Dual- Polarized CPW- Fed Conformal Antenna for Ultra-Wideband Applications
In this paper, we introduce a new compact dual-polarized conformal slot antenna fed by two orthogonal CPW semi-discs. To achieve a high isolation between the two ports, a strip is inserted diagonally in the ground plane. The simulations are done using the CST Microwave Studio software. The simulated results show that the proposed antenna provides an impedance bandwidth enough to cover the Ultra wideband spectrum, and exhibits a good isolation across the operating band. These features make the proposed concept very attractive for conformal ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna applications which used polarization- diversity technique. Voir les détails

MODELLING OF SMART THIN FILM THERMAL-CONDUCTIVITY HUMIDITY SENSOR USING ANN
The aim of this paper is to achieve a modeling design of a smart thermal-conductivity based humidity sensor (THS) using neuronal networks. Since the variation in temperature can strongly affect the sensitivity of the humidity sensor leading to a nonlinear response of the applied humidity, our mission is twofold: (i) accurately express the sensor using Radial Basis Function Neuronal Network (RBFNN); (ii) propose an element of correction whose goal is to correct the nonlinear response and eliminate the temperature effect. The paper proposes a smart sensor which incorporates Artificial Intelligence into the thermal-conductivity based humidity sensor, it exploits the RBFNN capability to provide compensation and self-calibration which is verified by simulations results.
Miniaturization of a patch antenna by thin film materials
The miniaturization of printed antennas is made possible by changing the volume of the antenna with high permittivity materials, ferroelectric, ferromagnetic, magneto-dielectric, etc. More traditionally, the dielectric having a high permittivity were employed to decrease the physical dimensions of antenna patch. The problems often encountered with high permittivity substrates are, degradation of the gain and the bandwidth and therefore the efficiency of the antenna. The use of magnetic materials would be an interesting solution for the miniaturization of antennas without degrading performance due to the significant value of permeability. Voir les détails

Asymmetric Generalized Gaussian Mixturesfor Radiographic Image Segmentation
In this paper, a parametric histogram-based image segmentation methodis used where the gray level histogram is considered as a finite mixture of asymmetricgeneralized Gaussian distribution (AGGD). The choice of AGGD is motivated byits flexibility to adapt the shape of the data including the asymmetry. Here, themethod of moment estimation combined to the expectation–maximization algorithm(MME/EM) is originally used to estimate the mixture parameters. The proposedimage segmentation approach is achieved in radiographic imaging where the imageoften presents an histogram with a complex shape. The experimental results providedin terms of histogram fitting error and region uniformity measure are comparableto those of the maximum likelihood method (MLE/EM) with the advantage thatMME/EM method reveals to be more robust to the EM initialization than MLE/EM. Bayesian Networks-Based Defects Classes Discrimination in Weld Radiographic Images
Bayesian (also called Belief) Networks (BN) is a powerful knowledge representation and reasoningmechanism. Based on probability theory involving a graphical structure and random variables, BN iswidely used for classification tasks and in this paper, BN is used as a class discrimination tool for a set ofweld defects radiographic images using suitable attributes based on invariant geometric descriptors. Testsare performed on a database of few hundred elements where the results are outstanding and verypromising, since they outperform those given by powerful SVM classifiers. Voir les détails
